
Saint John Chrysostom
ca 349 – 407
Born in Antiochia about 349 A.D. in wealthy family. Well educated in rethoric (Libanius) and in religion (Diodore).
In 397 he became the Patriarch of Constantinople. Died in at Comana Pontica on 14 September 407 during the journey to banishment place. He is honored as a saint in the Oriental Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican, and Lutheran churches, as well as in some others. The Coptic Church also recognizes him as a saint.
