Close historical study of recently discovered archive whose contents date from 16th to 19th centuries and pertain to community of El Tephe, Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo. Provides facsimile of some sections of archive and reconstructs information on colonial history of town, including lineage of its Otomí nobility and names of previous indigenous governors, as well as land ownership records, and information on construction of local churches, and other aspects.
