Part of a series of Roman stories linking in with the history national curriculum, key stage 2. This is a story about what life was really like for ordinary Roman folk. When his father is posted to an army camp near Hadrian's wall, Gaius can't believe his luck. A soldier's life is for him, he thinks, and he can't wait to explore. But there's more to army life than he thought. And when he and his dog get lost in the camp, Gaius wonders whether he will ever make a good Roman soldier.
