Old Steve Cody bucked the Vargas gang and won the election for sheriff, but lost his life to a bushwhacker's gun. When young Steve claimed his father's silver star, the county held its breath. For Steve, known as a pal of Vargas' and a gun artist, was involved in a pair of killings.
